About KALA Kuwait
Founded in 1978 by a group of progressive-minded Malayalees, the Kerala Art Lovers Association -KALA Kuwait is one of the leading socio-cultural and secular organizations of the Indian community in Kuwait.
KALA is committed to a wide range of activities, from charitable initiatives to the promotion of art, culture, education, and social awareness among the Keralite community. The organization has consistently been at the forefront of responding to developments in Kerala while organizing discussions, seminars, and public forums on important educational and social issues.
In 1990, KALA launched its landmark Free Mathrubhasha Education Program, through which the name "KALA" became synonymous with the promotion of the Malayalam language and mother-tongue education.
Expanding its social commitment beyond Kuwait, KALA established KALA Trust in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in 2000 to undertake charitable and community welfare activities in its home state.
Today, KALA has 93 units across Kuwait and thousands of active members. The organization welcomes all progressive-minded people, irrespective of religion, caste, creed, or political affiliation, fostering unity, cultural enrichment, and social responsibility within the community.
